I'm so excited to be making this first post! I've been following members of the blogging community for a little over two years and have (finally!) decided to create my own blog.
In honor of the unseasonably warm weather, I have created two inspiration sets based upon (500) Days of Summer. Who doesn't want to emulate Summer Finn's vintage-chic style? In an interview with Hope Hanafin, the movie's costume designer, states that the use of shades of blue also plays a crucial role in the love story. Summer Finn seems to have become a new style icon who has contributed to the popularization of vintage details, a trend of which I certainly approve!
This first set is a daytime look. It would be perfect for an afternoon of people-watching at the park, browsing albums at the record store, or going thrifting! The deep hue of Modcloth's "Sapphire for Hire" dress pairs perfectly with the lace details and tiny blue buttons around the neckline, creating an antique feel. The nude tones of the Bow Toe Ballerina flats blend smoothly with the cream of the lace on the dress. Accompanied by the nude flats, a nude cross-body helps to make the sapphire tone of the dress pop! Top the look off with a pair of gold plated, vintage-inspired earrings by Sence Copenhagen and a gold bow ring and you have a perfectly Summer outfit.
This second inspiration set is geared more towards an evening out to dinner with that special someone or to a terrace party. The baby blue dress is a lace creation inspired by the Great Gatsby. This vintage-esque piece that conveys a feeling that is classic Summer. Scallop-edged nude flats are versatile for day or night, but elongate leg length in ladylike manner. Adding a glittery boxclutch and crystal blue teardrop earrings top the look by adding a chic, upscale feeling.
